Super Junior M's Zhoumi comes For Everyone's Edges in new MV Teaser

So I was just innocently cruising my tumblr dashboard and somehow, I came across this MV teaser for Super Junior M member Zhoumi's solo debut. Now when SM originally released the photo teaser for their new solo male artist, I was like ,"if this is not a Taemin comeback...why would I...even...look at this..?"

And honestly, when it was revealed that it was Zhoumi, I was indifferent. I love Super Junior M, but Zhoumi just never really did anything for me. I was happy that he finally got to do something "official" seeing as Super Junior M is technically a side project, a lot of fans don't see him as a legitimate member of Super Junior, and Henry, who should be in the same boat as Zhoumi, has been able to snag a pretty sweet spot in the Korean entertainment industry. But I honestly couldn't say I was looking forward to it. But THEN, THEN I saw this teaser and my world changed. Besides the fact that he kind of looks like he needs some chap-stick in the first few scenes, this teaser is EVERYTHING! SM's must have actually learned something in terms of treatment of their Chinese idols with the whole Kris and Luhan fiasco because I can just tell this song is about to be a jam. From the Ying-Yang-Twins-Jason-Derulo realness in the beginning, to the smooth choreography, to Zhoumi's styling, it looks like SM put in some real effort. And the fact that the song will be released in both Korean and Chinese shows that SM might actually have big plans for Zhou mi. I also like the R&B touch the song has, as opposed to being purely pop. It's like they're really trying to give him a unique identity musically.

Now unfortunately if you go to the comment section of the teaser video, the conversation has nothing to do with the slayage that is Zhou mi. Instead, people are riled up about that fact that the song will feature EXO. More specifically, the Chinese version will feature EXO-M's Tao and the Korean version will feature EXO-K's Chanyeol. Some people find it annoying that EXO members will be featured, while others don't understand what the big deal is since SM artists always feature on each other's project. As for me, I can see both sides of the argument. Maybe it's because I follow EXO, but it's seems like their group tends to have an abnormal amount of features in SM productions. However, I'm not going to play dumb and act like I don't know why; EXO brings in the money. EXO has a truckload of dedicated fans who, regardless of what it is, will come out to show support  for anything as long as the name EXO is attached to it. It doesn't matter how relevant an artist already is, or if they already have an established fan-base, the addition of anything EXO always results in an increase in attention and profit. And honestly, it might be a good thing for Zhou mi. Unless they're really into Super Junior or SM entertainment, the average K-popper  probably doesn't know or doesn't care who  Zhou mi is. However, EXO is currently a trend group in K-pop, so Chanyeol and Tao will be able to bring buzz to Zhou mi's debut. They may come for EXO, but might end up staying for Zhou mi. However, there is always the likely possibly that this whole thing becomes an EXO show; a case where fans come for EXO and stay for...EXO. I really don't like thinking this way but ever since Taemin's song Pretty Boy , I just can't ignore it. I get that it's Chanyeol and Tao that some fans come for , but you always have to keep in mind whose song it actually is. It kind of rubbed  me the wrong way when I saw people commenting on how cute Chanyeol is or how suave Tao looks while failing to comment on Zhou mi or the actually song! Like you realize they would have nothing to feature in if Zhou mi didn't have this debut in the first place?
I just think fans on both sides should try to keep it cool so we can all be happy and  get our lives to this impending club banger.

Anyway, Zhou mi has officially caught my attention and I'm like 1000000% excited for his solo debut. Good Luck to him!
