Did KCON just drop a hint as to who may be attending this year?

In honor of Presidents Day/George Washington's birthday, on Feb.15th , KCON, America's biggest Kpop convention, that takes place in California (and now New York) every year, tweeted a photo of a set of dollars bills where George Washington's face was replaced with the leaders of various Kpop group.

The photo featured Nayeon's Twice, iKon's Bobby, BTS's Rapmonster, and AOA's Jimin. Now while some just saw this tweet as a clever joke, many have been curious about the idols they chose to use, speculating that this may be a hint that AOA, iKon, Twice, and BTS will be guests at KCON 2016. Both AOA and BTS have guested in the past, but this would be a first for Twice and iKon, who made their debuts after the event was held in 2015. If we go by a tweet they posted on Jan. 26, they've only started planning for KCON 2016 last month.

However, with the amount of planning and scheduling that goes into events like this, I wouldn't be surprised if they actually started some time during the end of 2015, so it wouldn't be that weird if they already managed to confirm some guests. If we go by last year though, where they didn't start announcing guest until months before the concert, this supposed hint is a bit premature. If this is a hint, I have to give props to KCON, because this is really clever. I would also say I was excited, but I'll have to see whether these groups will be guests at KCON LA or KCON NY (if at all) before I get my hopes up. Anyway, what do you think? And what groups would you like to see at this year's KCON seventeen pls and thank you?

The Konbat Konundrum Kontinues!

The iKonics vs Changjos fandom color battle can finally be put to rest as a fan uploaded a picture of a powered konbat, confirming that it, along with iKons fandom color, is in fact red. Unfortunately where that war left off, another one is picking up due to the fact that red (pearl red to be specific) is the fandom color of legendary SM group, DBSK.

Konbat "red ocean"

Cassiopeia "red ocean"

There's no way around this one; they are extremely similar shades of red. Similarly to Changjo's, Cassiopeia are now pleading for YG Entertainment to change iKon's fandom color out of respect, and there is even a petition going around, gathering support on the issue.

Excerpt from petition

Some iKonics however, are branding Cassiopeia as hypocrites because before red was the fandom color of TVXQ, it belonged to YG duo, JinuSean.

Now I've seen a lot of people making fun of Cassiopeia, and saying the whole petition idea is a bit ridiculous but I have to give them props for having the right idea. If they really want iKon's color changed, trying to get the attention of YG Entertainment is their bet best. Fighting with iKonics and bashing iKon isn't going to do much in terms of actual progress. I would even go further and say they should be trying to get SM Entertainment's attention as well. Getting SME involved would allow for a possible company to company negotiation which, in all honestly, would be much more powerful then a petition  sign by some people on the internet. Just like I said in my other post however, I don't think YGE will be willing to change now, seeing as merchandise has already been produced and distributed.

Thoughts?

Regarding Shinhwa, iKon and fandom colors.

So, today YG Entertainment unveiled rookie group iKon's official light stick the "konbat".

Now everything was good and dandy until some fans started to notice it's similarity in color to the official color of Changjos, the fandom of veteran group Shinhwa.

And thus was the start of World War Three between the two fandoms. The situation escalated even further after a statement regarding the issue of fandom colors was tweeted by Shinhwa member Eric:

Now, before I go on, I liked to add that iKon's official color has yet to be announced. In fact, prior to the release of the "konbat", a lot of people assumed that it was going be red, based of their album artwork and teaser designs. So, this entire thing might be a non issue all together when it's finally announced to be "firetruck read" or "burnt orange" or some other crayola-eqse title. However, going on the assumption that it is in fact orange, I wanted to give my opinions on some of the issues at hand.

Aren't fans over reacting?
In my opinion yes and no.  This situation eventually happening was inevitable; as more and more groups debut, it's going to become harder and harder for groups to find a unique colors to give their fandoms. By the time we reach 2017, this will probably be an issue every other week. Rather than a color, I think symbols and logos are more reasonable to identify by because they have a wider range at which they can be personalized.

At the same time, I also have to acknowledge that's just my perspective because fandom color never meant anything to me. It's not a special sentiment at all. Therefore, it's harder for me to empathize and understand why fans hold it closely to their hearts. I mean, there's a lot of things in my life that hold lots of sentiment, that most people wouldn't understand, but I would hate for them to be dismissive of my feelings because of that. Not to mention, Shinhwa is an older group, and with the whole idea of "out with the old, in with the new" I can kind of see why Changjo's would be uneasy. While respecting their views , I have to say I really like G.O.D's Joon's opinion on the situation:

Was Eric's tweet childish?:
I don't think it was the most appropriate thing to do, but I he probably saw what was happening and felt the need to speak up in support of Changjos. However, rather than tweeting, he should have just contacted YG directly about the situation. The tweet may have gotten his feeling across but it wasn't really productive in actually handling the situation.

Should YG change the color?
I don't think so . I mean, if you look at the chart above, as long as YG is specific enough with the shade of orange (or red to be honest because it still looks more red to me), it should be fine. Plus, they have probably already created merch (in addition to the konbat) so changing everything now would be a waste of money.

That's all I have for now, but what are your thoughts? Do you think iKon needs to change their color or Changjos need to chill?
