The first stop of the North American leg of EXO's Exolution tour took place this Thursday and some people have been criticizing ARMY (fan club of idol group BTS, home of visual god Kim Taehyung) over pictures that were taken at the concert of attendees wearing BTS paraphernalia. Now in my opinion, this is really not a big deal, but some people are finding to be disrespectful.Smh this person is wearing a Jimin shirt— 돈나 (@kpoplover727) February 11, 2016

Honestly, aren't we taking things a bit too seriously? Despite whatever fanwars may happen online, BTS and EXO aren't LITERALLY at war; they're not even really rivals in the kpop realm given that EXO has a good 2 years on BTS debut-wise. I feel like a lot of this grievance has to do with ARMY's reputation online; people are giving this much more attention than they would if say, the girls were donning Big Bang fan gear, because it fits the "annoying ARMYs" narrative. Is it a bit strange to wear that to an EXO concert? Sure. Does it warrant hate. Not even remotely. In my opinion, the girls in the picture probably didn't have EXO gear, so they just decided to wear the BTS shirts because it still falls under the realm of K-pop, and it's a way for them to represent their love of the genre. It's like when people where video game or Dr. Who cosplay to anime conventions. It's not anime, but it falls in with "nerd culture" so it's still cool. Any, what do you all think? Is it disrespectful to wear the attire of one group to another group's concert? Let me know down below! (Also who else is attending the concert? I got tickets for the NY date on the 21st! So excited!)
